Thien Ho for Congress – Issues

Defending Democracy

Thien Ho knows what happens when democracy fails. As a refugee from Vietnam, he saw firsthand what authoritarianism looks like, and he never imagined he’d see warning signs here in the United States.

Fighting Corruption

As a career prosecutor, Thien has held corrupt bureaucrats and corporations accountable.  Public office is a public trust, and Thien intends to treat it that way.

Lowering Costs for Working Families

Families across CA-6 are being crushed by the rising cost of housing, groceries, gas, health care, and childcare. Thien has prosecuted wage theft and understands what it’s like for parents to stretch every dollar because his family lived it.

Supporting Immigrant Communities

As Sacramento County District Attorney, Thien Ho stood up to Trump and ICE, and refused to allow law enforcement in his county to assist with ICE’s lawless deportations.

Public Safety That Builds Trust

Thien has taken on violent crime, prosecuted sexual assault, homicides, gang violence, hate crimes, and served as lead prosecutor in the Golden State Killer case. He believes public safety and civil rights go hand in hand.

Affordable & Accessible Health Care

Affordable & Accessible Health care should be something families can rely on - No family should go bankrupt when someone gets sick.

Defending Reproductive Freedom & LGBTQ+ Rights

Thien believes the government must protect individual freedoms for all people. Freedom means the right to live safely and authentically without politicians interfering in your private life.

Protecting Our Environment & Tackling Climate Change

California is on the front lines of climate change, from devastating wildfires and drought to extreme heat and rising energy costs. In Sacramento, Yolo, and Placer County across the district, families are feeling the impact.

Supporting Small Businesses & Strengthening Our Local Economy

Small businesses are the backbone of communities across the district. They create local jobs, support neighborhood economies, and help define the character of our communities. But too many are struggling with rising costs, workforce shortages, and financial uncertainty.
